Where Social Media Fails
There are two main issues with social media:
- There are many businesses that don’t have an obvious ‘social’ audience. That’s OK. Let’s say you’re a logistics firm – why ‘engage with the online space’ when you could focus your attention on more productive means to new business?
- Social media cannot be measured only by business through the door. It’s much more about communications and public relations than marketing. So the benefits are less measurable and concise.
It can also open up a can of worms: with greater visibility and transparency, don’t expect all communications or comments to be positive!
How Social Media Succeeds
We love social media when it’s used in the right way. If you develop strong messages and creative ideas, then there is a whole world to discover and interact with.
It can endorse your brand, strengthen communities, position your business and create new routes for promotions.
However it can only work if you get the tactics right: compelling content, strong messages and clear communications are on the social sampling menu today.
Social media marketing is hard, but rewarding, work. So whether it’s LinkedIn training, Twitter setup, Facebook pages or Google+ acrobatics, we can help you.
